The first Audio On Loop will rotate 10 works per fortnight from Thursday the 18th of June till Saturday the 18th of July 2009.

For those of you who haven’t loitered in Newcastle’s Hunter Street mall of late, it’s a pretty desolate mis en scene. As is typical of other regional centres, the Westfield’s have been built out in the suburbs and this has meant something of a slow apocalypse for retail in the city centre. Cast in White

There is something deceptively reassuring and accessible in Dan Carr’s bell-like voice that assures the listener they are in for an easy journey with Cast in White.  However behind and underneath this lies a dense murky layering which manifests itself in deep sea-like surges of something more real.  Warnings of risks not taken, and moments not treasured are cased in desperate crashing waves of crescendo balanced by dreamlike verses of lessons to be learnt.
